The clinics are staffed by Hartford HealthCare medical assistants who work with a virtual provider from the system to provide primary care, screenings, vaccinations and telehealth consultations. The sites are open seven days a week, accommodating both appointments and walk-in visits.
The first three clinics opened at Walgreens locations in Putnam, Enfield and East Lyme, Conn. The remaining two clinics will open at stores in Norwalk and Manchester this July and August, respectively.
The partnership marks Walgreens’ first clinical collaboration with a health system in New England, according to a May 8 news release.
