CVS makes new leadership appointments

CVS Health has announced two key leadership appointments as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance pharmacy and wellness services.

Len Shankman has been named president of Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness, while Lucille Accetta has taken on the role of chief pharmacy officer. Both will report to Prem Shah, group president of CVS Health, with the appointments effective immediately, according to a Dec. 3 news release from CVS. 

Mr. Shankman, who has been with CVS Health since 2002, will oversee operations at more than 9,000 CVS Pharmacy locations. His role includes driving digital and in-store experiences that meet consumers’ health and wellness needs.

Ms. Accetta, who joined CVS Health in 2017, will lead efforts to integrate pharmacy services across the organization while advocating for the evolving role of pharmacists in healthcare. In addition to her new responsibilities, she will continue overseeing the company’s specialty pharmacy, coram, and omnicare businesses.
