Amazon reports $127B in revenue for Q1

Amazon reported $127.4 billion in revenue for the first quarter of 2023, a 9 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Net income also increased to $3.2 billion, compared to a net loss of $3.8 billion during the first quarter of 2022, according to an April 27 press release from Amazon. 

Three more things to know about Amazon’s first-quarter performance:

  1. Amazon’s operating income hit $4.8 billion, compared to $3.7 billion in the first quarter of 2022.
  2. Amazon’s operating cash flow reached $54.3 billion, a 38 percent increase from the same period last year.
  3. Amazon’s net sales reached $127.4 billion, a 9 percent increase compared with the $116.4 billion the company reported in the first quarter of 2022.
