The $113 million HealthAlliance hospital project in Kingston, which is expected to rise eventually to a $134.9 million overall cost, is partially funded by the New York State Capital Restructuring Finance Program, which is contributing $88.8 million. Kingston is approximately 90 miles north of New York City.
The new hospital includes a new, two-story, 79,000-square-foot building adjoining the hospital’s legacy structure as well as a full renovation of 48,000 square feet of the previous hospital environment. The new building will also have a 25,000-square-foot emergency care center as well as a family birthing center and intensive care unit.
WMCHealth, which approved a new contract in October to improve nursing pay by 27 percent over five years, is a 1,700-bed healthcare system operating nine hospitals on seven campuses spanning 6,200 square miles of the Hudson Valley. The system employs more than 13,000 people and has nearly 3,000 attending physicians.
