The seven-story, 215,000-square-foot hospital houses 88 medical/surgical beds, 10 intensive care unit beds and 22 labor and delivery beds. The facility, which opened Aug. 25, features an expanded emergency department with 16 treatment rooms, an imaging department and seven operating rooms.
“For 150 years, we have had the privilege to care for San Franciscans from every neighborhood of our wonderful city,” said CPMC CEO Warren Browner, MD. “We are delighted to carry on that tradition and meet the ever-changing needs of our city by the bay.”
About 35 patients were transferred from the St. Luke’s campus to the new facility, according to CBS San Francisco.
