Aurora Health Care will open a $200 million hospital and clinic in Summit, Wis., on March 1, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

ProHealth, a competing hospital system, recently spent $58 million renovating a new wing at its nearby hospital.

The newspaper is concerned that the two competing hospitals would raise area prices, noting that after Aurora opened another hospital in Oshkosh in late 2003, its revenue and that of an existing hospital increased 41 percent faster than national expenditures on hospital care.
