The upgrades include an eight-bed critical care unit and a 12-bed stepdown unit to provide care for patients transitioning from intensive care to standard inpatient care.

The new rooms are equipped with hemodynamic monitoring systems, and the rooms are designed for optimal visualization of each patient by medical staff for continuous accessibility and monitoring.

Rick Kolaczek, Merit Health Wesley’s COO, said the upgrade is important to grow to meet the needs of the local community.

“We designed these rooms to set the stage for the excellent care patients will receive from our physicians and nurses,” Mr. Kolaczek said.
