Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network has opened its third neighborhood hospital, Lehigh Valley Hospital–Pocono Creek in Bartonsville, Pa.
The 22,000-square-foot facility includes 10 inpatient beds, a full-service emergency room and a radiology suite. The hospital also offers laboratory, imaging and pharmacy services, according to a Jan. 28 news release.
The facility is located on the same campus as the Health Center at Pocono Creek, which houses outpatient services including cardiology, family medicine and outpatient adult rehabiliation.
Lehigh Valley Hospital–Pocono Creek joins Lehigh Valley Hospital–Macungie (Pa.) and Lehigh Valley Hospital–Gilbertsville (Pa.) as part of the system’s expanding neighborhood hospital model. A fourth site is expected to open in Hellertown, Pa., by early 2027.
The micro-hospitals are designed to improve access to care while reducing emergency department volumes at the system’s larger hospitals.
