Kroger will sell products from Simple Truth, its in-house natural and organic brand, through the website operated by Alibaba. The program is Kroger’s latest effort to extend its presence beyond brick and mortar stores to compete  with Walmart and Amazon, who have been expanding their grocery delivery services.

Walmart recently partnered with JD.com, which operates a chain of high-tech Beijing supermarkets. The pair hopes to expedite customer deliveries by combining their networks of warehouses and storage units.
