Menomonee Falls, Wis.-based Froedtert ThedaCare Health will open ThedaCare Medical Center-Oshkosh on Jan. 19, expanding access to care in northeast and central Wisconsin.

The 114,000-square-foot campus is the 20th hospital in the Froedtert ThedaCare system and represents an estimated $84 million investment, according to a Dec. 18 health system news release.

The hospital will provide 24/7 emergency care, inpatient care, outpatient surgery, primary and specialty care, pediatrics, imaging and lab services, and a drive-thru retail pharmacy. A 28,000-square-foot third floor was added to the original design to accommodate future growth based on community needs.

“Understanding each community’s specific needs allows us to remain proactive in care, to predict and prevent disease before complications arise,” Robert Cavagnol, MD, president of the system’s North Region, told Becker’s in April. “This is why we decided to build ThedaCare Medical Center-Oshkosh in the specific location. Nearly 73% of Oshkosh’s residents live east of Interstate 41, while most of the current healthcare services are located west of I-41, meaning east-side residents are more than 15 minutes away from a hospital or emergency room.”

Froedtert ThedaCare began construction on the facility in March 2024. Approximately 60 new jobs were created for the initial opening, with staffing expected to expand as services grow.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
