Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health has acquired the nine-story, 235,000 square-foot Fairbourne Building in West Valley City, Utah, and plans to convert it into a medical campus.
Four things to know:
1. The building, located on 8.5 acres, will become the Intermountain Health Fairbourne Campus, according to a Sept. 15 health system news release. The campus will offer primary care, specialty care and eventually a freestanding emergency department.
2. Planned services include advanced imaging, ambulatory care, laboratory services, infusion treatments, outpatient services, specialty physician clinics, diagnostic services, rehabilitation services, pharmacy services and endoscopy services. Intermountain Health Medical Group will have clinics for medical oncology, orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, gastroenterology and rheumatology services.
3. The building was constructed in 2012 and has three built-out floors with six additional floors available for future expansion. It includes clinic space, infusion space and an ambulatory surgery center.
4. Construction on the building’s interior is underway. Several clinics and services will open later in 2026, and the freestanding emergency department affiliated with Intermountain LDS Hospital is planned to open in late 2027.
