The college already occupies space in the hospital’s east tower, which houses a simulation lab, human anatomy learning center and surgical technician program. The new agreement will expand educational space while converting other space to student housing.

Pueblo Community College will lease the building for $1 per year but is responsible for all renovations and facility operating costs.

“With that, we will be expanding all of our nursing and allied health programs to be able to increase the number of students that we are graduating by an additional 225 nurses and allied help professionals each year,” said Patty Erjavec, PhD, president of Pueblo Community College.
