Beaufort (S.C.) Memorial has marked a construction milestone for its new Bluffton Community Hospital, hosting a topping-off ceremony Dec. 4 to celebrate completion of the facility’s structural frame, according to a Dec. 5 news release from the health system.
Four things to know, per the release:
1. The 28-bed, $103 million facility will be Bluffton’s first hospital.
2. It will include a full-service emergency department, surgery center, cath lab, inpatient acute nursing unit and imaging services.
3. Hospital leaders say the project is designed to serve residents in Southern Beaufort County, reduce demand at the system’s main campus in Beaufort, and attract additional physicians to the region.
4. The hospital is slated to open by early 2027.
