The Iris S. and Bert L. Wolstein Center is estimated to cost $30 million, according to an Aug. 26 news release. The recent donation has initiated a campaign to fund the new development fully through philanthropy.
The 30,000-square-foot center will include simulation and training labs, audiovisual and remote learning equipment, a cafe and an art gallery. It will also provide space for national and international conferences.
UH Cleveland Medical Center is one of the few major academic medical centers without a center of this kind. Nearly 1,200 residents and fellows are part of its residency program, the release said.
Iris Wolstein and the late Bert Wolstein are among the largest donors to the health system, according to the release.
