An ongoing internal and external investigation confirmed the violation of Intel’s nonfraternization policy, which is applicable to all management.
“Given the expectation that all employees will respect Intel’s values and adhere to the company’s code of conduct, the board has accepted Mr. Krzanich’s resignation,” according to the statement.
Intel’s CFO Robert Swan will immediately step in as interim CEO while the board searches for a permanent leader.
Mr. Swan has been CFO at Intel since October 2016 and leads the global finance, IT and corporate strategy divisions.
