Here are five points:
1. Dr. Klamerus has served as interim president of the hospital since April 2016.
2. He has previously served in a number of leadership roles at Karmanos, which was acquired by Flint, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care in 2014, including as executive vice president/chief quality officer.
3. He completed a fellowship in medical oncology from Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins University.
4. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology as well as the Steering Committee of the Michigan Oncology Quality Consortium.
5. In his new role, Dr. Klamerus will oversee all clinical operations at Karmanos’ treatment locations in Detroit and Farmington Hills, Mich.
