Steve Rauch, president of excavation and demolition company Steve R. Rauch, donated the $1.5 million, which will help build a comprehensive cancer center across the street from Kettering (Ohio) Medical Center. The $53 million, 120,000-square-foot cancer facility is expected to open this December, according to the report.
So far, Kettering Health Network has raised $8.5 million for the project, including Mr. Rauch’s $1.5 million gift.
The new cancer center will consolidate all of the health network’s cancer support resources in one building, according to Jarrod McNaughton, president of Kettering Medical Center. The new center will create 200 jobs, with some physicians from other Kettering Health Network facilities being moved to the cancer center.
