Abbeville Area Medical Center CEO to retire: 4 things to know

Rich Osmus, CEO of Abbeville (S.C.) Area Medical Center, is retiring, according to an Index-Journal report.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Osmus and his planned retirement.

1. Mr. Osmus intends to retire in early 2016 “to have a freer schedule,” according to the report.

2. He will retire after serving as CEO of the medical center for about eight years.

3. During his tenure at the medical center, Mr. Osmus told the Index-Journal the hospital has experienced a change in culture and has grown in staff and physical size. The medical center will shortly begin construction on a new medical center building.

4. Previously, Mr. Osmus served as a medical service corps officer in the U.S. Air Force in Wichita Falls, Texas, and Rapid City, S.D.
