Virginia hospital construction faces setbacks

Renovations are continuing on the new Stuart, Va.-based Foresight Health hospital after setbacks caused the hospital to push back its planned January opening, local news outlet WDBJ reported May 4.

The hospital struggled with supply chain issues, a shortage of contractors and finding an architect within their budget.

The finished hospital will include a 10-bed emergency room and a 15-bed psychiatric unit.

The original hospital closed in 2017 and was purchased by Chicago-based Foresight in April 2022.

The next step for the hospital is installing an EHR system. After selecting a Florida-based architect, the hospital hopes to open by the end of the year.
