Mr. Faas served at the helm of the health system since 1994. During his tenure, he played a key role in establishing an early physician hospital organization, which has since evolved into a clinically integrated network. Mr. Faas led Metro Health through its merger with Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan Health System, which was completed in December 2016.
The health system is now working on a transition plan. Mr. Faas will continue in his roles into next year until his successor is named.
