20 latest hospital, health system executive moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves were announced or made this week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

 

1. Raleigh, N.C.-based Rex Healthcare named its COO, Steve Burriss, interim president.

2. Moab (Utah) Regional Hospital CEO Robert Austin informed the hospital's governing board that he will retire early this year.

3. Upper Peninsula Health System in Marquette, Mich., named Jeff Perry COO.

4. Baltimore-based Sheppard Pratt Health System CEO Steven S. Sharfstein, MD, announced he will retire July 1, 2016, after serving the mental health system for 30 years.

5. Robert Ingala, president and CEO of Greater Lawrence Family Health Center in Lawrence, Mass., is stepping down.

6. Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., named Michael Antoniades executive vice president and COO over both the New Brunswick and Somerset campuses.

7. Aiken (S.C.) Regional Medical Centers appointed Vance V. Reynolds as CEO.

8. Englewood (N.J.) Hospital and Medical Center announced the appointment of Hillary Cohen, MD, as chief of emergency medicine.

9. Columbus (Ga.) Regional Healthcare System named Carla Parker-Hollis president and CEO, effective Feb. 16.

10. Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa, named Brian Martin as CEO.

11. Hartford, Conn.-based Saint Francis Care promoted David Bittner, MBA, CPA, to CFO, and Robert J. Krug, MD, to CEO of Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital, part of the Saint Francis Care system, also in Hartford.

12. Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Health Care System named Lorrie Liang, MHA, COO, effective Feb. 16.

13. Royal Oak, Mich.-based Beaumont Health announced the appointment of John T. Fox, MBA, as president and CEO, beginning in March.

14. Orlando (Fla.) Health named David W. Strong, MHA, president and CEO after more than a year without a permanent leader.

15. Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic named John Presutti, DO, CEO of Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross, Ga., effective March 2.

16. Milwaukee-based Integrated Health Network of Wisconsin announced the appointment of Kurt L. Janavitz, MBA, as CEO.

17. Sitka (Alaska) Community Hospital named CNO Raine Clarke interim CEO following the departure of Jeff Comer.

18. Lewes, Del.-based Beebe Healthcare named Rick Schaffner, RN, executive vice president and COO.

19. Cambridge (Mass.) Health Alliance selected Steve Carter as senior vice president of IT and CIO.

20. Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, N.C., appointed Mark Benz to serve as the hospital's third CEO in the last 27 months.
