UW Health is currently constructing a $21 million digestive health clinic that will include an American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, a hotel, apartments and office and retail space. The system will begin work on another clinic this month and will begin a $45 million expansion of its American Family Children’s Hospital in August.
The biggest project planned is a new $100 million to $200 million complex. UW Health will break ground on that project in September and will begin construction the first quarter of next year. The complex will include an 80-bed hospital, a clinic building, a wellness and fitness center, an emergency room and a parking structure. UW Health plans to offer orthopedics, rehabilitation, urology, bariatrics, general surgery, integrative medicine, primary care and cardiology in the new facilities.
The health system is also planning a $25 million replacement facility to house the Wingra Family Medical Clinic, integrative medicine physicians, UW Health’s obstetrics-gynecology residency continuity clinic and UW Health Behavioral Health and Recovery, which will consist of the system’s behavioral health clinic and substance abuse treatment program.
