Pittsburgh-based UPMC has received a $65 million gift from Daniel and Carole Kamin and the Kamin Family Foundation for its new UPMC Presbyterian bed tower in Pittsburgh.
The facility, which is under construction, will be named the Daniel G. and Carole L. Kamin Tower, according to a July 23 news release from the health system.
The 636-bed facility will be next to the existing UPMC Presbyterian. It is 70% complete and is expected to open in early 2027.
“[Dan] and I are honored and delighted to share in announcing our historic gift, which will allow for the development and advancement of specialized and very advanced patient care, including in neurology, vascular and cardiology medicine and patient care,” Ms. Kamin said in the release.
