Patient starts 2 fires in Houston hospital causing $1M in damage

Angry at Houston-based Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital for refusing him emergency room services, David Williams, 33, walked into a next door building shortly after 1 a.m. on August 3 and started two fires. The blaze triggered Memorial Hermann’s sprinkler system, resulting in an estimated $1 million in damage.

Houston police arrested Mr. Williams shortly after the incident and have charged him with criminal arson. According to KHOU, it is unclear what injury Mr. Williams was seeking treatment for.
