Nicholas Wolter, MD. CEO of Billings (Mont.) Clinic. Appointed CEO of Billings Clinic in 1997, Dr. Wolter oversees a 285-bed acute care hospital, multiple regional clinics, a long-term care facility and a 240-physician multispecialty group practice. He initially joined Billings in 1982 as a practicing pulmonary and critical care medicine physician. Dr. Wolter was named a Physician Executive of the Year in 2004 by the Medical Group Management Association and is a former member of the boards of directors of the American Hospital Association and the American Medical Group Association and served two terms as a commissioner on the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission.
