Cushing Memorial Hospital Changes Name to Reflect Ties to Saint Luke’s

Cushing Memorial Hospital in Leavenworth, Kan., changed its name to Saint Luke’s Cushing Hospital to more clearly reflect its affiliation with Kansas City, Mo.-based Saint Luke’s Health System, according to a Leavenworth Times report.

The hospital’s name change is intended to designate its ties to Saint Luke’s while continuing to honor its founder, Harriet Cushing, according to the report.

The name change announcement coincided with the hospital’s public announcement of a $20 million improvement project, which will include an expansion of the emergency room, according to the report.
