10 most affordable online MSN degree programs

Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimated the average salary for a nurse with a MSN degree in 2016 ranged from $74,300 per year to $107,460 per year. Job growth for U.S. MSN nurses is expected to grow by a 31 percent rate between 2014 and 2024.

Using data from the bureau, national ratings and rankings and institution information, Best Medical Degrees ranked the 30 most affordable online MSN degree programs. Researchers examined eligible programs based on the institution’s base tuition costs per credit hour, program length and if the program is accredited by a U.S. Department of Education-approved accrediting organization.

Here are the top 10 most affordable online MSN degree programs, according to Best Medical Degrees.

  2. The University of West Georgia’s Tanner Health System School of Nursing (Carrollton, Ga.)
  3. East Carolina University College of Nursing (Greenville, N.C.)
  4. Fort Hays (Kan.) State University Department of Nursing
  5. Ball State University School of Nursing (Muncie, Ind.)
  6. Missouri State School of Nursing (Springfield)
  7. Lamar University Joanne Gay Dishman School of Nursing (Beaumont, Texas)
  8. University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing (Tuscaloosa)
  9. East Tennessee State University School of Nursing (Johnson City)
