Medline, a medical supply manufacturer and distributor that went public in December, is expanding its footprint through new partnerships, technology investments and infrastructure growth, while managing several product recalls.
As the company manages recalls of blood culture kits, medical convenience kits and reprocessed catheters, it is also expanding collaborations with U.S. health systems and hospitals.
Here are three major updates the medical supply company has announced since January:
1. New collaborations with health systems
In April, Medline signed a prime vendor agreement with Sullivan (Ind.) County Community Hospital, which operates 16 facilities. With the agreement, the health system will have access to Medline’s medical-surgical products, which the organization said will help streamline supply chain management and control costs.
Another health system, LifeBridge Health in Baltimore, has fully implemented its prime vendor agreement with Medline, the company said March 31. The five-hospital system now has access to Medline’s medical-surgical products, as well as the company’s program designed to improve wound closure supply management and an exclusive delivery system for custom surgical packs.
2. AI pilot with 10 systems
In late February, Medline began piloting an AI-powered supply chain platform, Mpower, with 10 U.S. health systems. Mpower, designed in collaboration with Microsoft, uses real-time data and predictive analytics to identify potential supply chain disruptions.
The systems have been testing the technology since fall 2025. Medline said it plans to offer the tool to its customers in phases this spring, with a broader launch by May.
The pilot group includes Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, Providence in Renton, Wash., Inova Health System in Fairfax, Va., The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, ProMedica in Toledo, Ohio, UCHealth in Aurora, Colo., and four others that were not named.
3. Distribution center in Texas
The company broke ground in March on a 1.2 million-square-foot distribution center in Midlothian, Texas, adding to its network of 45 distribution centers across the U.S.
In total, Medline has more than 26 million square feet of warehouse space in the U.S., according to Sean Halligan, executive vice president of operations.
Medline said it expects the distribution center to be fully operational in the second quarter of 2027.
