Richland Hospital (Richland Center, Wis.). The hospital, located 60 miles west of Madison, Wis., and 65 miles east of La Crosse, Wis., has been accepting patients since 1924, when it was located in a mansion. Today, patients regard Richland Hospital highly, as it is one of just 336 hospitals to earn a five-star rating from CMS based on HCAHPS survey results. Patients are not the only ones who rate the hospital highly: iVantage Health Analytics has named Richland Hospital as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital four times, most recently in 2015. The National Rural Health Association also highly regards the hospital, naming it a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital this year.
