In the draft funding bill, HHS would receive $71.3 billion, a $298 million increase from the previous year, but $3.9 billion below what President Barack Obama had requested.

Within HHS, the ONC’s budget would remain unchanged at $60 million. HHS had proposed a budget of $92 million.

According to announcement from the Appropriations Committee, “the legislation targets funds to proven programs with the most national benefit, while reducing spending in lower-priority areas.”
