Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health has reopened its MRI Center in Bismarck, N.D., following a significant renovation.
The upgraded facility features a 3-Tesla MRI — the first of its kind in Bismarck — and a 1.5-Tesla MRI unit, according to a Jan. 19 news release. The scanners deliver clearer images with scan times up to 50% faster and include a feet-first option to help reduce claustrophobia.
To support the renovation, the center expanded from 5,062 to 5,160 square feet and added a new vestibule. Both MRI units include hands-free ferromagnetic detectors that identify iron-containing objects and help ensure patient and staff safety.
Sanford Bismarck leaders said the renovation reflects a continued investment in technology and patient care. Sanford Health’s Bismarck Region includes 26 clinics and a Level 2 trauma center serving central and western North Dakota, eastern Montana and northern South Dakota.
