Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins University has appointed Jenny Hoang, MD, as interim director of its department of radiology, effective Feb. 2.

Dr. Hoang succeeds Karen Horton, MD, who stepped down after 10 years in the role. She joined Johns Hopkins in 2019 and has since served as medical director of Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging, vice chair of radiology enterprise integration, interim division chief of breast imaging and chair of radiology at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, also in Baltimore.

A head and neck imaging specialist, Dr. Hoang has published more than 130 peer-reviewed articles. She was promoted to full professor and received a faculty mentor award from the 2023 Johns Hopkins Radiology resident graduating class, according to a Johns Hopkins news release.

Before joining Johns Hopkins, Dr. Hoang served on faculty at Duke University, where she also completed fellowships in neuroradiology and cardiothoracic radiology.
