“Anyone who was at the concert that evening and who shows signs of the disease should contact their healthcare provider by telephone before seeking care so appropriate precautions can be taken to prevent the further spread of the disease,” said Wilma Wooten, MD, County public health officer.

According to NBC San Diego, the club’s owners estimated approximately 200 patrons attended the concert that evening.

Mumps is highly contagious and spread by coughing, sneezing and close contact with an infected individual. The viral disease incites fever, headache, earache and salivary gland inflammation.
