Cigna opens Africa headquarters

Cigna opened an office in Nairobi, Kenya, that will serve as the company’s headquarters for its African operations, according to Hapa Kenya.

The office space will hold more than 80 Cigna employees in the insurer’s group health solutions business. Cigna’s team in Nairobi already totals 40 employees, and the insurer also has employees in South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In total, Bloomfield, Conn.-based Cigna operates in 30 countries.
