8 recent payer executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following executive moves since Oct. 11. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent. 

1. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama named Tim Vines president and COO, and future CEO.

2. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana appointed Monica Berner, MD, as president.

3. Community Health Plan of Washington hired Keith Brown, MD, to serve as CMO, and Patty Jones, RN, as senior vice president of health services.

4. Gail Boudreaux has been named president and CEO of Anthem and appointed to the company's board of directors, effective Nov. 20. She is replacing Joseph Swedish, who will stay on as executive chairman of the board until May 2018 and then serve as senior adviser through May 2020.  

5. John Snyder stepped into the chief administrative officer role at Health Alliance, a for-profit health insurance company under Urbana, Ill.-based Carle Foundation.

6. Health Partners Plans selected Geralynn Boone, MSN, RN, to serve as vice president of clinical operations, Medicare.

7. UCare dropped the 'interim' from President and CEO Mark Traynor's title.

8. Molina Healthcare tapped former Aetna executive Joseph Zubretsky as president and CEO, effective Nov. 6.
