1. 37th defendant pleads guilty in $100M fraud scheme
Another person admitted their involvement in a long-running fraud scheme involving Parsippany, N.J.-based Biodiagnostic Laboratory Services.

2. KPMG attempts to get Singing River lawsuit tossed
National accounting firm KPMG is trying to get the court to throw out a lawsuit it is facing, which was filed by Pascagoula, Miss.-based Singing River Health System.

Karo Gotti Blkhoyan, who was convicted for stealing physicians’ identities in order to defraud Medicare, was sentenced to 57 months in prison.

4. Notre Dame’s contraception challenge to be revisited
The U.S. Supreme Court instructed the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago to reconsider its decision in a case brought by the University of Notre Dame, which challenges the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’s contraception provision.

5. NY physician pleads guilty in $14.2M Medicare fraud scheme
A New York physician admitted he and other medical providers at his clinic submitted $14.2 million in fraudulent claims to Medicare for medically unnecessary treatments.
