Here are three things to know.
1. The two entities formed an academic partnership for a CNA program.
2. Under the program, potential CNAs will apply concurrently at Phoebe and Albany Tech and then, if accepted, go through respective training, according to the report.
3. Hospital officials told The Albany Herald the program aims to help ease the transition process for those who ultimately work as employees at Phoebe, and help meet the local demand for CNAs.
“They apply for a position here and find it really overwhelming,” Melanie Finlayson, student services specialist for Phoebe, said. “(The partnership) provides exposure to a hospital setting and builds a pipeline. They can see the atmosphere, and we will be able to offer them a position.”
