Value of Medical Office Building Transactions Reaches $1.63B in 2Q

In the second quarter of 2012, 183 medical office buildings across the country were sold, with a combined value of $1.63 billion, according to a Healthcare Real Estate Insights analysis of data from Real Capital Analytics.

“That is the highest quarterly sales level recorded since the fourth quarter of 2010 and the fourth highest ever — at least since RCA began tracking MOBs sales in the first quarter of 2001,” HREI Editor John B. Mugford said. “Even during the MOB sales heyday of 2006-08, only two quarters saw greater sales volume than was recorded last quarter.”
