Tenet acquires remaining stake in United Surgical Partners for $630M

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare purchased the remaining 15 percent ownership in Addison, Texas-based United Surgical Partners International for $630 million, the 69-hospital system announced April 26.

Tenet now holds a 95 percent stake in USPI, which was previously owned by Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe. Dallas-based Baylor University Medical Center holds the remaining 5 percent ownership stake.

Officials completed the deal on an accelerated timeline. The transaction was previously expected to be completed in July 2019.
