Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Ill., has rejected a merger offer from Crystal Lake, Ill.-based Centegra Health System, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
Sherman ended talks with Centegra last month.
The Tribune said sources revealed that Sherman Hospital has talked to Oak Brook, Ill.-based Advocate Health Care and Alexian Brothers Health System in Arlington Heights, Ill., although hospital officials have not confirmed this claim.
