Oklahoma Medical Center to Buy Surgery Center

Stillwater (Okla.) Medical Center has agreed to acquire a physician-owned Stillwater Surgery Center for $7.2 million, according to a report by the News Press.

Under the agreement, the physician-owners will keep ownership of the actual ASC building and will continue to practice there. The hospital, then, will pay the physicians $26,435 a month in rent. Five of the physician-owners will also be paid $15,000 annually to manage the center, according to the report.

The hospital is also expected to spend $1.2 million in renovations for the center, which will be reimbursed by the ASC through pro-rated rent.
