Marshfield Clinic Health System completes purchase of Ascension hospital

Marshfield (Wis.) Clinic Health System completed its asset purchase of Saint Joseph’s Hospital, also in Marshfield, July 1.

The 500-bed hospital was previously owned and operated by St. Louis-based Ascension Health.

Under the agreement, the facility was rebranded Marshfield Medical Center. The purchase also added approximately 1,200 employees to MCHS’ staff.

The organizations previously signed a definitive agreement in April.
