Once the acquisition is finalized, the hospital will be rebranded as Merrick Medical Center. The hospital will offer additional services, including specialized psychiatric and dermatology care via telemedicine.
Officials also revealed plans to renovate the hospital and one of its two physician clinics. The estimated cost of construction is approximately $5 million. Officials said the hospital has raised nearly $1.7 million in funding toward its goal.
The two organizations have been partners since 2013.
