Erlanger, Murphy Medical Center sign letter of intent to explore partnership

Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Health System and Murphy (N.C.) Medical Center signed a letter of intent to exclusively embark on a potential partnership.

The goal of the partnership is to enhance and grow the number of services Murphy Medical Center provides.

Officials said they expect to complete the due diligence process in approximately 90 days, and intend to sign a definitive agreement by September or October.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
