Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center approves purchase of former nursing home facility

President and CEO of Patchogue, N.Y.-based Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center Richard Margulis officially signed the contract to purchase the property belonging to the former Yaphank, N.Y.-based John J. Foley Skilled Nursing Home Facility, according to LongIsland.com.

The $15 million purchase marks the end of negotiations between BMHMC and SuffolkCounty officials. BMHMC’s board of directors approved the transaction Sept. 13.

BMHMC officials plan to close the sale by the end of the year and to file the necessary documents with the state by the end of the first quarter of 2017. Officials hope to proceed with interior renovations of the facility by mid-2017, pending state approval, according to the article.
