Ohio's Coshocton Hospital CEO Retires

Coshocton (Ohio) Hospital CEO Greg Nowak has announced his retirement, according to a Coshocton Tribune report.

Mr. Nowak has been CEO for 20 years. A recent decline in patient stays and an increase in charity cases and bad debts left the hospital with a $2.7 million operating loss in 2009. Mr. Nowak said the hospital is still paying its bill on time despite these challenges.

During Mr. Nowak's tenure, patient revenue has increased from $6 million to $70 million and the number of active physicians on the hospital staff has increased from 12 to 26. The hospital has also undergone several expansions and remodeling projects.

The hospital board plans to name an interim CEO by the end of July.
