Private Equity Firms Invest in Cancer Centers

Private equity firms have recently invested in cancer centers to take advantage of a growing business, according to a Tennessean report.

For example, Kohlberg & Co. acquired a majority stake in e+CancerCare in Nashville, an outpatient cancer center operator. Kohlberg & Co. also provided the operator with $100 million-$150 million of capital, which it plans to use to develop new centers and expand into new markets.

Another example is Pharos Capital Group, which has a stake in a company called Aurora Imaging Technology that develops breast imaging technology.
