Venice Regional Bayfront Health names Karen Fordham CEO: 5 things to know

Venice (Fla.) Regional Bayfront Health selected Karen Fordham to serve as CEO, effective Sept. 1, according to a Herald Tribune report.

Here are five things to know:

1. Ms. Fordham most recently served as CEO of Fort Wayne, Ind.-based St. Joseph Hospital.

2. Prior to that, she was president and CEO of Detroit Medical Center’s Huron Valley Sinai Hospital in Commerce, Mich.

3. She holds an MBA from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.

4. Ms. Fordham succeeds Bob Moore, who will transition into a new role overseeing the construction of Venice Regional Bayfront Health’s replacement facility in Venice.

5. Mr. Moore will lead the development of the new facility, which will include an expanded emergency department and larger surgical suites. Construction is expected to begin late this year or in early 2019. The facility is slated to open in 2021.
