Dallas-based UT Southwestern Medical Center appointed Traci d’Auguste as vice president and CEO of William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, effective Oct. 1.

Ms. d’Auguste previously served nearly six years as senior vice president and COO of University of Florida Health Shands Hospital, a 1,100-plus-bed teaching hospital in Gainesville, according to an Oct. 1 UTSW news release.

She succeeds Chris Rubio, system COO, who had served as interim CEO since April 2023 following the departure of John Warner, MD.

In her new role, Ms. d’Auguste will oversee operations at Clements University Hospital and Zale Lipshy Pavilion. She will also lead UT Southwestern’s solid organ transplant program and cardiovascular service line.

UT Southwestern’s faculty of more than 3,200 provides care to more than 140,000 hospitalized patients, 360,000 emergency room cases, and nearly 5.1 million outpatient visits annually.
