University of Vermont Med Group Names Dr. Howard Schapiro Interim President

Howard Schapiro, MD, has been named interim president of the University of Vermont Medical Group and interim senior associate dean of clinical affairs at the UVM College of Medicine in Burlington.

Dr. Schapiro is an anesthesiologist at Burlington, Vt.-based Fletcher Allen Health Care and associate professor at UVM College of Medicine. He is filling in for Paul Taheri, MD, MBA, who left for a position at Yale University in New Haven, Conn.

David Adams, MD, an anesthesiologist and associate professor, will fill in for Dr. Schapiro in his roles as Anesthesiology Health Care Service leader at Fletcher Allen and chair of the department of anesthesiology at UVM College of Medicine on an interim basis, according to a news release.
